New Dr.Dre Album in 2009

Dr. Dre will finally release the long awaited Detox later in 2009. The album has been on the shelves for about ten years, but this year is finally the year that Dr. Dre will release Detox. The album will come about ten years after Dr.Dre's last album The Chronic 2001. Detox has been rumored to have a host of featured artist including Eminem, 50 Cent, Jay-Z, Rakim, Methodman, Raekwon and others.

Eminem recently took the blame for Detox not coming out sooner, saying that work on his own album Relapse, slowed down Dr.Dre from working on his album. There are rumored to be hundreds of completed tracks from Detox, with Dre probably ending up picking the best 20. Dr.Dre is a noted perfectionist and once made a rapper recite a line 107 times, a single bar from one song, before getting it right, according to Snoop Dogg.

Snoop Dogg has also been rumored to appear on the album, which is surely to be the last for the 44 year old rapper,producer and hip hop icon. Dr.Dre recently completed work on Eminem's Relapse, which he produced every track except for the track Eminem produced himself titled Beautiful. That song has just been released as a single, it is a personal song about Eminem's time away from the Mic.

Detox was originally slated for a 2005 released then pushed back to 2007 and 2008, now it has finally gotten a late 2009 release, possibly in September or fall coming after 50 Cent's Before I Self Destruct. This is going to be a great year for Shady/Aftermath records. A new D12 album is also reportedly in the works as well, Dr.Dre has been rumored to be producing tracks for that album as well. Dr. Dre has been said to be have Detox near completion, and it just comes down to how many tracks he wants to put in it, it has also been rumored to maybe be a double CD, so it may end up with more the 20 tracks on it. A double disc would be a good way to go out Dre!

In conclusion, Dr.Dre will release Detox in late 2009, possibly September or later, after 50 Cent's Before I Self Destruct. Although the album has been pushed back a number of times and there is no guarantee of when it is going to come out until there is an official release date. Dr.Dre also released a tease of Detox on a Dr.Pepper ad, premiering one five second clip of the album.
