Michtam of David. Pray:
O God preserve me
for I trust in You so'
to Jehovah
My soul has said, You're my Lord
Up to You my goodness does not reach
To the saints on earth and to the excellent
it reaches and my soul delights in them.
Sorrows come
multiplied
if you choose a different god.
Their off'rings drunk of blood
I will not offer
nor will I take their names
unto my lips.
Jehovah my portion is,
my inheritance, yes and my cup
You maintain my place, to me come pleasant lines
yes, from you I have goodly heritage
I will praise
Jehovah
who has given wise advice.
My kidneys teach me well
during the night-times
Always I've set Jeho-
vah before me.
Because he's at my right hand
I shall not be shaken, no sirree!
So my heart is glad and so my glory shines
it rejoices and my flesh shall rest in hope
For you will
not in hell
leave my soul, not leave my soul
nor let your Holy One
suffer corruption
you will show me the path
the path of life
You will preserve me O God
in your presence fullness is of joy
at your right hand pleasures are forevermore
at your right hand pleasures are forevermore
You preserve
me O God.
Christ arose, his saints shall rise!

I include the heading in the song. "Michtam" is KJV; Young thinks it means "secret treasure." Peter in Acts 2 quotes from Ps 16 as a prophecy about Jesus: David died and rotted, but Jesus died and didn't rot but rose up alive. 'Jehovah is my cup' may hint at the Lord's Supper, in contrast to blood offered to different gods.
"Wise advice"--"advice" is a weaker word than "council." May also refer to Jesus, the Word.
"My kidneys teach me well"? KJV "reins"(as for steering a horse.) Fine for us to paraphrase and to explain, but if the Holy Ghost had ol' David use "kidneys," God must have something for us to learn from the expression. (My kidneys have me get up during the night, an opportunity to put Psalm 119:62 into practice :)
"Hell" I presume to be Hebrew "Sheol"--haven't looked it up--and I presume it refers to where all the dead go (with smoking and on-smoking sections), not to the smoking section in particular.
The last three lines apply and extend the Psalm; see I Corinthians 15.
I'm not sure the video is word for word the same as this. Use freely, and make your own improvements.
Again, video is on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=POW_N8FglRY. (My accordion is on the fritz, so this is acapello. I am not Pavarotti, commented someone on another video. Right. But if Pavarotti were doing what I want done (and consider that God wants done), I could follow instead of trying to do it myself. If you are Pavarotti (so to speak; he's dead), by all means and with my blessing do it better.
