New Ebay Add-On for Mozilla Firefox Browser

Assoc Content
Users are now being asked to beta test a new add-on for the Firefox internet browser that will help monitor their personal activity on the eBay auction site.

Add-ons are small programs designed to provide additional functions and usability to the browser and represent one of the single biggest reasons Firefox has become the leading challenge to Microsoft Explorer.

The Firefox eBay add-on works with the auction site to provide real time alerts as listed items are updated or sold. For those wishing to search eBay for items to buy there is also a custom search facility together with useful safeguards to protect users against phishing attacks.

The final add-on release is scheduled for August this year and the beta testing is available for users in France, Germany and the United Kingdom.

One area of concern for commentators at the Pheebay Auction Discussion Forum is the adverse effect the recent 'Vladuz' eBay hacking news will have on this add-ons popularity. A Romanian hacker, who goes by the name of Vladuz, was rumoured to have distributed a Firefox add-on himself and some people suspected this was in some way used to compromise thousands of eBay accounts. Whether these two unrelated stories will have any impact on one another waits to be seen.
