Everyone loves the colors that come with the fall season, the beautiful colors in the leaves of reds and purples, to yellows and greens. Not only can you enjoy the changing of the seasons in the leaves and scenery, you can also enjoy festivals and events built just for the fall season! Here are some of the things to do in Maine and Vermont!

Maine:

The state of Maine would be the best to catch the beginning of the season and changing colors. It starts up in the mountains to the north of the Baxter State Park and sweeps in a southeastern arc to the shoreline. Below are a couple events you can enjoy in Camden, Maine:

Smoke and Spirits

September 12th, 2009

James Beard Award-winning chef of Fore Street Restaurant in Portland, Sam Hayard will be guiding a taste of adventure of Maine's premier artisan smoked seafood and fine spirits from Maine distillers. No one under the age of 21 will be permitted into this event.

Old Fashioned Maine Bean Hole Supper

September 12th, 2009

Sandy Oliver a culinary history and traditions expert will be in attendance to introduce this time-honored meal. For this supper, the beans are baked overnight in a hole in the ground, also included in this meal will be ham, coleslaw, biscuits with honey, with a delicious dessert of freshly picked Maine Apples!

Annual NortheastT Kingdom Fall Foliage Festival

September 27th, 2009 through October 3rd, 2009

With over 50 years running, this festival brings to its visitors a piece of "Old Vermont" with local crafts, hymn sings, band concerts, church suppers and historical tours. There are seven different and unique festivals in seven different towns over seven days!

17th Annual Hidene Fall Arts Festival

October 2nd, 2009 through October 4th, 2009

While you are visiting this fall arts festival of around 200 artists and artisans who proudly display to sell their very own creations you can partake in fresh food and live entertainment. This year they will have the Vermont Cheese, Beer and Sausage Tent! The Beautiful foliage you can go and enjoy at the top of Equinox Mountain Toll Road which is the highest peak in Southern Vermont makes this festival the perfect stop along the way!
