New England Patriots 2008 Schedule

Being an elite team in the NFL usually means you will draw a very tough schedule for the following year. Not the case for the New England Patriots in 2008. Following a season when their only loss was in the Super Bowl, I expected every team with a winning record last season to get put on the Pats schedule. Fortunately, they reside in the AFC East , and despite the intended media hype, that is usually good for 5 or 6 wins. Buffalo would be the only team that could be quite completive. We'll give one of those teams the benefit of the doubt, and say the Pats will be 5-1 in their division.

Rumor had it, early on, that the Pats would not see a Sunday Night, or Monday Night Nationally televised game, which made little sense, but the fact is they have at least 4 of those. One game everyone in the NFL will circle, is the 11/2 game at the Indianapolis Colts. Playing the Colts on that fast field is always tough, but you know who I'll pick to win that game. The other prime time games are 10/12 at the San Diego Chargers, another tough team to beat, when they are on their home turf. Again, I'll pick the Pats. On Monday, 10/20, the Pats take on an old rival , the Denver Broncos, who always give the Pats fits,. I'll put that in the question mark column.

The other 2 prime time games are on 11/30, at home against the Steelers, and on 12/7, at the Seattle Seahawks, a very good football team every year.It is possible the Pats might lose one of those games, but I'm not buying it.

It's very tough to predict records this early. Obviously, the draft might effect a team one way or another, as well as free agency, and even a rare trade. For the record though, I still believe in one of the best franchises in football, and their QB, Mr. Tom Brady. All of the Spygate crap, and that is what it all was, crap, should be behind them, and they will be focused, as always. To say the Pats have a soft schedule though, would be an understatement I'm not sure what the NFL was thinking, but giving the Pats this schedule is an invitation for another perfect season, wish I'm certainly not going to wish for, or predict. I will gladly concede two loses though, before the Super Bowl this time, and predict the Pats to be 14-2. Time will tell, but we all can't wait! Go Pats!
