The first new show we will look into is Cougar Town. Courtney Cox (formerly of the show Friends), will have the top role in this new show. Cox plays a 'going on 40' woman who juggles a successful career and is a mother. She begins to feel her age and feels that there is not enough going on in her life. She had dealt with a bad period during her divorce and was now looking into getting back into the dating game. The problem is that she is not able to get with men her own age because they go after the younger women. Her married friend and assistant suggests that she get back into the dating pool and she goes for it. Luckily, she meets a friendly and young guy named Bobby and things get interesting from this point on. This new addition to the ABC lineup will air on Wednesday September 23rd at 9:30 p.m.
The next new show we will now discuss is Hank. This show may indeed spark my interest considering the fact that the plot interests me. Hank (portrayed by Kelsey Grammer) is a CEO on Wall Street who is successful until he loses his job. When this happens, he, his wife Tilly (Melinda McGraw), and their children must move away from the high life in New York City and relocate to the small town of River Bend. They have to learn how to live in a smaller home and mingle with small town people. This will also be an opportunity for the family to get closer than ever before. This is a show I will consider watching. It has a strong similarity to the movie RV which starred Robin Williams a couple of years back. This show will premier on Wednesday September 23rd at 8:00 p.m.
Another new show that will premier on Wednesday will be The Middle starring Patricia Heaton. It sounds like it will definitely be a different show. Heaton plays a mother who looks after her husband Mike and their three children. They have lived in Indiana their entire lives and make due with what they have. Frankie (Heaton) is a used car salesman and her husband is a manager at their town's quarry. Their three children are Axel, Sue, and Brick. They are a middle class family living the middle class life. This show will air on Wednesday September 23rd at 8:30 p.m.
A fourth new show that will air on ABC's Fall 2009 lineup is The Deep End. The Deep End will premier in the midseason. This drama stars Matt Long and Tina Majorino. Four of the best young lawyers are chosen from the most prestigious law schools in the world. Dylan, Addy, Beth, and Liam find themselves being recruited to one of the most prestigious law firms in Los Angeles. They will have to overcome numerous obstacles and will have to be there for each other even though they will be in competition. There are tons of twists and turns in this new drama with relationships, greed, and betrayal.
Another new show, Eastwick, premiers will premier on Wednesday September 23 at 10:00 p.m. May will agree that this show is a good mix of Desperate Housewives and Charmed. This drama is about three married women who live in the small seaside village of Eastwick in New England. At first, they did not like each other because of what they thought about each other. However, after a weird encounter in a park and some drinks, they formed a bond that could not be broken. On top of this, a mysterious stranger unexpectedly comes to town. He is a rich man who many women would think was the whole package. He meets each of these women and attempts to seduce them physically and professionally. What he doesn't realize is that he is going to bring out the witch that lies within these ladies and he will end up releasing their supernatural powers. Things in this seaside town will definitely start to spin wildly. This show will air Wednesday September 23rd at 10 p.m.
The last show that we will discuss is drama Flash Forward. It sounds like this show will definitely be interesting. This show discusses what happens after everyone on the planet passes out for over two minutes and then wakes up and has a vision of the future. This show will star Joseph Fiennes who plays a FBI agent who is now sober and trying to patch up his life and his relationship with his wife Olivia (played by Sonya Walger). His wife sees herself being in love with another man in the future and this twist will make things interesting. This show airs on Thursday September 24 at 8:00 p.m.
It definitely seems like ABC is trying to beef up its schedule and according to Aceshowbiz.com, they are trying to place more of an emphasis on comedy. I guess we will see what happens.
