New Film, "Love Don't Let Me Down," to Star Gwyneth Paltrow and Country Music Star Tim McGraw

A new film entitled Love Don't Let Me Down, starring Gwyneth Paltrow and Tim McGraw, wrapped in Nashville, Tennessee, in early March of 2010. While nothing yet has been publicized about where the film is in Post-Production or word on a release date, this gem will be one to watch for. Fans from all spectrums will find something in Love Don't Let MeDown as it stars up-and-comers Leighton Meester of Gossip Girl fame, Garrett Hedlund, of Tron Legacy, and another producing role for actor Tobey Maguire.

Love Don't Let Me Down tells the story of a husband and wife in the music business; Kelly Canter (Gwyneth Paltrow), a washed-up, alcohol addicted singer trying to make a come-back, and her husband and manager, Ed (Tim McGraw). Gwyneth Paltrow stepped up to the plate (or the mic, I should say) for the film, learning to play the guitar and taking vocal lessons to add authenticity to the part.

The film showcases Gwyneth Paltrow's vocal talents, which have been previously publicized, and those of the supporting cast; but ironically, according to an article by Debbi Willis for Examiner.com, not a note is to be heard from country music star Tim McGraw.

In addition to its country music theme, Love Don't Let Me Down brings the very heart and soul of the city of Nashville into the film, incorporating some of its music legends and current local talent, as well as its notable locations in music history.

The film features local Nashville country music talent like Chris Scruggs, an up-and-coming country star with diverse appeal. Also watch for a first-time screen appearance by country music legend, Marshall Chapman, who plays Gwyneth Paltrow's tour manager. You may or may not recognize the name Marshall Chapman, but Chapman has made her mark on country music and her songs have been recorded by music heavyweights such as: Joe Cocker, Emmylou Harris, and Irma Thomas.

Residents of Nashville, Tennessee will also get a thrill seeing Nashville's Municipal Auditorium and country music Hall of Famer, Barbara Mandrell's former home, the Fontanel Mansion, featured in Love Don't Let Me Down.

With only the buzz to go by so far, it looks to me like Love Don't Let Me Down may just follow in the footsteps of Walk the Line and Crazy Heart, and if it does, I'll be a satisfied movie go-er.

Be sure to check back as I will be following up on this film as it proceeds out of Post-Production.

Gwyneth Paltrow playing a washed up star? That's particularly cruel type-casting!
