New Green Day Album in 2009 21st Century Breakdown

Green Day will come out with a new album in 2009 entitled "21st Century Breakdown". The album will be the bands first release since American Idiot in 2004. Its been five years since Green Day has released their last album leaving fans all over hungry and ready for more of Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool. American Idiot has sold over 5.8 million copies to date, Green Day's best selling album beside Dookie from 1994.

Every Green Day album has sounded radically different from the last one and this one will probably be no exception. If one wants a sneak peak of what this album may sound like just listen to The Foxboro Hot Tubs or The Network, these are two of Green Day's more recent side projects. These side projects might give fans an idea of what the new album might sound like. Will it be a harder sounding album like American Idiot or lighter like Warning. Will it be pessimistic like Insomniac and Nimrod, or will it be more like Kerplunk or Dookie. No, it will probably be an album all of its own, just like every other album has been, incomparable to the last one.

Will this be Green Day's last album? That has to be the question on the minds of many fans as this album creeps towards its May 20th,2009 release date. The May release date gives fans a whole summer to digest the new album. The release date also gives Green Day a head start on other albums from major artist coming out over the summer like Blink 182 and Eminem.
