However, that theory is going up in smoke as modern design concepts suggest the big thing sometimes come in big packages too. Going large may not be as popular a design theory as going green, but modern concepts and design options are making life more interesting for space challenged areas. The belief that safe miniature size furniture is always best is now outdated and so last century. Fitting a lot into a small space has been something that we have all been guilty of at least once in our lives but that concept too is a thing of the past.
In areas where you would normal stick a tiny little dining table to allow use of the tight space was playing it safe and sensible. In the 21st century playing is big and bold and maximizing not the space but instead the object filling the small space is on the rise and rise. Naturally, we think small spaces small furniture as it literally would go with the territory. However, when you begin to think large and bigger than even your small space can miraculously be transformed into a sumptuous heaven. The small spaces myth led everyone to believe that small space areas are hard to furnish. To a certain extent this was true until now.
Filling a small space with a normal sized sofa or dining table makes the normal or even large sized furniture the focal point of the space. Instantly, changing the dynamics of the space and room considerably. Accenting small spaces with lighting can forever enhance the decor of any size space in the home. But, choosing a larger sized sofa for the small space can work well only if the sofa or piece of furniture is multi-functional. For instance, a normal size dining table can easily double up as an office/desk area making the table's use multipurpose.
Open small areas with clutter free living as nothing puts a strain on small spaces than clutter. Stick to wall coloring that is light or soft tones to keep the area fresh and inviting. Nothing makes small space appear even smaller than the area being overwhelmed with dark walls or rugs.
