BS
As far as NHL goalies go, Martin Brodeur is one of the best. Martin Brodeur was born in Montreal, Quebec, in Canada on May 6, 1972, making him thirty-seven years old. This goalie is 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 215 pounds. Martin Brodeur's accomplished hockey career begins in the QMJHL (Quebec Major Junior Hockey League) in the 1989-1990 season. The QMJHL is one of the three hockey leagues that makes up the CHL (Canadian Hockey League). The CHL is the best junior hockey league in all of Canada.

Martin Brodeur played with the Saint-Hyacinthe Laser in the QMJHL in the 1989-1990 season. In 1990, Martin Brodeur entered the NHL draft and was selected by the New Jersey Devils, 20th overall. He was the New Jersey Devil's first round pick. Despite being drafted, Martin Brodeur remained with his team in the QMJHL until the 1991-1992 season. Brodeur started off the 1991-1992 season with the Saint-Hyacinthe Laser, and played 48 games with them, until he was called up by the New Jersey Devils, where he played four games before the season ended.

Despite ending the 1991-1992 season with the New Jersey Devils in the NHL, Martin Brodeur started and ended the 1992-1993 season with the Utica Devils in the AHL (American Hockey League). The AHL serves as a developmental league for the NHL, many professional players spend at least a little bit of time there throughout their professional careers. The AHL teams serve as feeders for the NHL teams. After a full season with the Utica Devils, Martin Brodeur was called up by the New Jersey Devils for the 1993-1994 season.

Martin Brodeur has been playing with the New Jersey Devils since the 1993-1994 season. In the 2004-2005 season, during the NHL Lockout, Brodeur took a break from hockey and did not play. After the Lockout was over though, he immediately reclaimed his place with the New Jersey Devils.

As mentioned before, Martin Brodeur is a very impressive goalies, and he has the awards to prove it. In 1994, Brodeur was named to the NHL All-Rookie Team. During his first season in the NHL, Brodeur was also awarded the Calder Trophy, which is awarded to the best rookie of the year. He has also received the Vezina Trophy in 2003, 2004, 2007, and 2008, which is awarded to the NHL's best goalie. Brodeur has also received the William M. Jennings Trophy in 1997, 1998, 2003, and 2004. This trophy is awarded to the goalie who has the least goals scored on him and has played over 25 games during the season. Martin Brodeur was also named to the NHL First All-Star Team in 2003, 2004, and 2007 and the NHL Second All-Star Team in 1997, 1998, 2006, and 2008. Martin Brodeur has also won the Stanley Cup with the New Jersey Devils in 1995, 2000, and 2003.

In addition to his many awards, Martin Brodeur has also played for Team Canada in many events. In 1996 and 2005, he played in the World Championships, winning the silver in 2005. In 1994 and 2004, Brodeur played in the World Cup, winning the gold in 2004. Martin Brodeur has also played in the Winter Olympics for Team Canada in 1998, 2002, and 2006, winning the gold in 2002.

With such an amazing player, it is not surprise that a few records have been achieved by Martin Brodeur. He is the 2nd goalie who has ever won 500 NHL games. Martin Brodeur is also the all-time leader in regular season wins. Brodeur is also the 2nd goalie with the most ever regular season shutouts.
