New Kids on the Block Reunion Tour Canceled

WD
One of the most popular boy bands from the 1980s and early1990s, New Kids On the Block, have announced that their tour is cancelled. This is disappointing news to New Kids on the Block fans because People.com just announced over the weekend that the rumors of them going on tour were true.

New Kids on the Block sold more than 50 million albums and were popular worldwide until the group broke up in 1994. The former New Kids members have not went unnoticed over the years though. The oldest member of the group, Jonathan Knight, is a real estate developer. Donnie Wahlberg has enjoyed a very successful acting career and Joey McIntyre has continued with his music career with his CD, Talk to Me. Jonathan Knight's brother, Jordan, continues to record music and he was seen not too long ago on the VH1 reality show, The Surreal Life. Danny Wood has also continued in the music business as a record producer.

My generation of music was the late 1970s and 1980s, so I remember how popular boy bands were during that time, especially the late 1980s. New Kids on the Block paved the way for many of the boy bands of the 1990s. Writing about Kids on the Block brings back memories of other groups that are no longer together that I miss.

ABBA

Although I was very young when ABBA was really popular, I remember at the age of 10 asking for one of their albums for Christmas. I had seen the commercial on television for their album and I immediately fell in love with the group. Today I still listen to ABBA a lot and my son is a big ABBA fan also. ABBA was more popular in other countries than the United States but some of their songs, such as Dancing Queen and The Winner Takes It All, were chart toppers in the U.S. The members of the group have made it known over the years though that they have no desire to do a reunion tour so we just have to keep ABBA living on through their CDs and those old albums!

Warrant

I was a product of the "big hair band" generation and I loved and "jammed" to groups like Warrant, Winger and Foreigner back in the day! Warrant had some great songs I loved listening to and I really loved their ballad, Heaven. The lead singer, Janie Lane, wrote the power ballad and it went on to reach #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1989.

Chicago

Along with the heavy metal and hard rock bands I also enjoyed the softer side of music as well! Chicago was a great group that I have missed hearing on the radio. I loved Chicago songs like Hard to Say I'm Sorry and Love Me Tomorrow. The original Chicago banded formed in 1967 with Peter Cetera as the lead singer. Chicago had great success with selling more than 120 million records, 20 Top Ten singles, 12 Top Ten albums of which five went to #1.

I think the reunion tour is still on going as the rumors about them being on a studio at this moment is getting stronger and the website www.nkotb.com is also requesting us to get ready..... I think we need to get ready to welcome them back!!!!
They are much better than other boybands, and much more stronger and valuable!!!

I heard there was going to be a reunion, but never a tour.
