New Lady Gaga and Beyonce Music Video!

Lola Casillas
The new Lady Gaga with Beyonce, "Telephone" video does not disappoint. It is highly stylized and has a high concept feel to it. It is welcoming with the beat and the dancing, but there is something formidable about this music video. I think it comes from the sheer energy Lady Gaga releases. A violent release of energy and sexuality that at once entices and repulses at the same time.

This video solidifies her as one of the most relevant entertainers of the decade.

The product placement is of course ironic and at once repulsive.

Beyonce looks out of her element, but with a likable demeanor and palpable innocence she is a great juxtaposition to Lady Gaga. Lady Gaga is completely in her own in this video. Her dance moves are crisp and delivered with hot intensity.

The outfits are gorgeous and the makeup is stunning.

The video oozes cool and sex.

What's great about the video is that it does two amazing things:
1. Makes you want to dance
2. Makes you want to buy a Polaroid.

Maybe it would be more correct to say that it makes me want to do and buy.

Regardless, as a reluctant fan of Lady Gaga, I find myself completely blown away by this video, visually and audibly.

I think a lot has to do with her updates on Twitter.com. Lady Gaga often refers to her followers affectionately as "little monsters" and it's undeniable that her fans are loyal and completely enamored by her. And while she has well over a million followers, her tweets are intimate and feel genuine.

This is a person who has high energy and a confidence to be who she is, to do what she wants and to appreciate how she got to where she is.

I know, now I'm gushing, but I think anyone who views this video gets a chance to see a true artist express themselves, I think the biggest thing I've learned as a humble listener is three things:

1. Be Bold
2. Be Fearless
3. Be True to yourself.

So tomorrow, I'll go to the grocery store in black heels and panties; I suggest you do the same.

(I also love how open to interpretation the video is, the abstract nature begs you to make the video relevant to your life. Each viewer is free and encouraged to extract something different from the video.)
