To increase the utilitarian purposes of the Always Innovating Touch Book, Texas Instruments has included removal magnets on the rear of the touch screen cover to allow you to attach the portable tablet screen to any metal surface. Weighing in at only one pound and measuring in at only one inch thick, this digital removable touch screen can be used as a digital frame, a calendar, and a notepad from some of the most unlikely places, say from your refrigerator for instance.
What make the Always Innovating Touch Book such an innovative design is, unlike all other laptop computing system that houses their battery and computing electronics under their keyboard, the Always Innovating Touch Book's components are hidden behind its display screen. The battery pack within the Touch Book screen has a 3 to 5 hour life between charging. Combine that with the additional battery power found within the units keyboard and the combined battery life totals up to 15 hours. No other laptop computer on the market to day compares with that. That is almost three times more computing time then their nearest competitor.
The overall dimensions of the Always Innovating Touch Book are 9.5 inches wide by 1.5 inches thick and weigh 2 pounds. Powered by Texas Instruments own 600 MHz OMAP3 lightening fast but low power processor and a simple Linux operating system, which can also be found in many advanced cell phones, is what enables the Touch Book to maintain such exceptional battery life and remarkable computing power.
Introduced to the market this summer, the Always Innovating Touch Book has been gathering lots of good reviews. Suggested to retail in the $300 to $400 price range this unit is affordable and compact enough to go anywhere. My daughter selected one as her back to school computer and is happy with here selection. Especially its size, it easily fits on the desk top in the labs and classrooms plus leaves space to include some other things. The keyboard is full size and easy to negotiate and the detachable tablet screen makes accessing the e-textbooks she subscribes to a breeze to read and study on from the bed.
This is Texas Instruments' introduction of the Always Innovating Touch Book, and it is already planning additional models. One planned feature for the next model is to include Bluetooth so that you can type messages from across the room.
