New Law Will Make Low-Riding, Saggy Pants with Boxers Showing Illegal

Don't Get Caught with Your Pants Down!

I personally don't mind if the law is passed. I actually can't wait for it to hit my state as well.

I hate walking into someone that is pulling up their pants in the middle of the mall, especially when I have any of my five kids with me.

I can see the potential for bias and I have no doubt that some law makers are just grinning as big as they can that they are sticking it to those 'young black, Hip Hop kids', but the good out weighs the bad in my opinion. Choose another way to make a statement. If you want people to see your underwear, I have no problem with you wearing them outside of your pants.

I have heard that this law will also affect plumbers, mechanics and I guess what they were trying to say was 'lower wage' workers (nice going on not stereotyping) but I don't want to see those guys cracks either. Some have said that workers like mechanics would be restricted if they weren't allowed to wear lose fitting clothes. If you have ever been a mechanic you would know that clothes that fit too loosely are a work hazard as they can get caught in machinery.

So this law seems to not hinder all but benefit all. What a relief.

This is a freedom which is being infringed upon by the law. While modesty may be a value freedom is a greater one. Malls or corporations can adopt dress codes if they wish but this infringes on the rights of individuals. Absolutely ridiculous. BTW I don't where my pants sagging. Though I do wear them loose so that I can kick if I need to.

I am white, I am no low wage worker, and I am just sick to death to hear of the man, wife and DAUGHTER that was arrested at a mall today because the father was wearying his pants to low! I don't like seeing saggy pants hanging practically down to the knees any more than the next guy, fines maybe I can condone, but how much is enough! I don't think you appreciate the scope of such a law and what it can do to people, or, the next law that it may be proceeding that will could effect you . . .

Law enforcement is supposed to protect the people, not protect some individuals' sense of beauty or propriety... There are appropriate laws to curtail 'indicent exposure'. Anything less than that, and you are in swampy waters... How can a judge prove that a person was wearing 'loose fitting pants with boxers showing' for personal fashion statements, and it is not a guy that has lost lots of weight from being sick and can't afford new clothes? It's all realtive, guys... Don't use the police and the law for menial stuff. Reserve it for the real thing: murders, theft, scam...

are thong bikinis going to be banned too? 'Coz I don't think that shows much less... And, how do you differentiate between 'boxers' and 'shorts'? I've personally been using boxers as shorts for the last 10 years... And what happens with the super endowed, Dolly Parton type women, will they have to hide their top crack too? I bet a lot of guys would not like that...

Well I think that it's not only the young black hip hop kids it's all of the young black and white kids

Personally I detest the look and how stupid and clown like these people look...But on the other side wearing these does make it harder to run from the cops......

    I haven't agreed with a thing you've said, but I guess there's a first time for everything (http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/257484/sagging_pants_hip_hop_trend_or_prison.html).

Personally I never thought pants sagging with boxers showing is a good look. Some may argue its freedom of expression. Surprised to hear the government is becoming involved.

I am not sure if I would be happy with that law passing. It tells us that we live in a society that doesn't have self-discipline...and that to pursue order and decency, a law must be enforced.

You're right. It is not something I want to see daily either and having a law to tell people how to dress is a prelude to something worst to come. Not to mention that parents stopped parenting. I recall and era (I'm dating myself) when parents would actually guide their children and let them know what is and is not appropriate. And no. It's not just a "Black" thing. I work in law enforcement. It's a criminal thing that young, impressionable kids have latched onto. In jail they take the belts and your pants sag. It also makes it easier to commit a rape. One fact not mentioned too often is that young boys (some girls) are messing their knees up with this style of dress. I just don't think it looks sane.
