After being around this incredibly dedicated group of volunteers, I knew that I wanted to be a part of their group. Although I've been a volunteer at a number of shelters and rescues, I was still surprised at the level of professionalism and dedication that this team showed. Even if volunteering with an animal shelter isn't for you, if you ever are interested in adopted a dog, they will answer any questions that you have and point you in the right direction. My neighbor adopted a dog through them and he was the sweetest little thing in the world. Actually, she was a first time dog owner and was a little nervous about adopting a dog, but the volunteers helped her through the whole process, giving her pointers and even offering training.

Other volunteer opportunities include fund raising, performing clerical duties, working at special events and offering transportation services. In addition, all volunteer need to be at least eighteen years old. By volunteering, you can make a huge difference in the lives of homeless and abandoned dogs. When I attended one of their events, I couldn't believe how well run it was and how enthusiastic every was, even though it was obvious that it took a whole lot of work and hours to put on.
