PS 9 and MS 571 in Prospect Heights have a brand new library, but both schools can't use it just yet. The opening of the renovated library has been delayed because of school budget cuts according to a press release from New York School of Interior Design.

Sadly, the schools do not have the funds to hire a librarian and the library will stay closed for now. It's a shame since the library is equipped with brand new books, computers and resources that students at the 80 Underhill Avenue campus could be using.

The library is called "The Book Hive" due to its innovative bee hive design created by Kiki Dennis, who is also a PS 9 parent. The Book Hive received funding from the office of Borough President Marty Markowitz and the office of Councilwoman Letitia James.
