What are the boxes worth anyways, the titles and all normal needed information is printed on the disk usually now. In some rare occasions the disk tens to be silver with no print or pictures on either side, but there is still a little ring near the center with the disk title and rating. While it is true that you loose the overview of the movie plot that is usually printed on the back of the case, many people no longer even read the backs. While this seems like a painful process it was rather easy once I got in the feel of the new system.
It feels strange to go through the disk and discard the box or case and slip the disk into a larger case, usually of 200 or more capacity. It feels just plain WRONG to get rid of those shiny nice cases and send the disk to their new home in a dark black unforgiving sheet of dull. Unfortunately for the disk and Fortunate for me the space difference was well worth the small sacrifice. For years many people have had this problem, in my case I had nearly two full book shelves full of Disks in their cases and all my books in boxes to make room for the more commonly used disks.
This simple method of storage not only fixed that problem but made a small 1.5 foot by 1.5 foot space the home to my newly stored collection of media. Since most of my media is on disk, for PC, music, backups, or movies, it was a natural choice and the space required is about 1.5 foot by 1.5 foot by about 2 feet tall, in all to tallying more than 750 disks.
I strongly encourage anyone trying to wiggle their disk collection around to consider this method of disk storage. Not only does it save space but speeds up the movie switching process and makes handling them easier. When guests come over they can simply sit on the couch flipping through the pages of movie rather than stand huddled around the bookshelves trying to read the titles sideways.
Trust me when I say your guests will actually appreciate it, and when going to another friends house, taking your collection is no longer a transportation issue. All of these life simplifying benefits can be yours for the simple trade of your beloved disk cases for the larger bulk disk storage case, now you need to find out what those original disk cases really mean to you.

Post a CommentNeat, but minor nitpick, DISC is the correct term for DVDs and CDs. Disk refers to Computer Floppy Disks or Hard Disks.
