New Milk Containers: I like My New Milk Jugs

Why Complain Over Spilled Milk?

June 30, 2008 -- According to CBS News, new milk containers have finally arrived at Sam's Club stores. There has been gossip about the new milk jugs, or new milk containers, hitting the shelves for the last few weeks, and I am thrilled these cartons are finally back as a reality in our marketplace.

The idea of using a square carton for milk is not a new concept. Back in the days when milk came in cardboard cartons, everything was square so that the cardboard cartons would stack and travel well on the trucks delivering the milk. Today with both gas and food prices rising, it makes sense that we need to embrace these new milk containers or new milk jugs with open arms.

Why Complain Over Spilled Milk?

Some people are complaining about the new milk containers or new milk jugs because the design is harder to pour. I completely disagree. New milk containers work just like the last rounded new milk jugs: aim for the glass and dump the white stuff out. Most children over age-8 should be able to explain the process to any adults that are feeling lost with this new square design.

We need cost cutters right now, not complaints about the new milk container styles, or new milk jug pouring techniques.

People who are having trouble pouring from the new milk containers can always use a pretty glass milk pitcher like grandma did to pour milk from, or they can wait for somebody to come up with a patented screw-on spout to make pouring milk from the new milk jug easier.

My thrill with these new milk containers is that they will store well for me too. I use empty plastic milk cartons to store extra water in for my plants in case of an emergency. My plant storage area is rather small, and now I will be able to triple the plant water supply on hand because these new milk containers stack so well. These new milk containers and new milk jugs are a welcome change in my home.

I like reading personal opinion pieces like these and also getting the heads up about a whole new type of milk container. Interested about how opinionated people seem to be about this. Fascinating!
