New Moon Soundtrack to Be Released Early; Track List Found Here

The New Moon soundtrack has a new release date. Due to such high demand, the Twilight Saga: New Moon soundtrack will be released on October 16th. This is a week earlier than previously anticipated, and should excite fans of the film series that have been waiting for albums release date to come around. The label in charge of releasing the New Moon soundtrack told Entertainment Weekly that due to overwhelming and unprecedented demand, they decided to move up the release date of the New Moon soundtrack. This will give people the chance to listen to the new array of songs more than a month before the film hits theaters.

Most albums that get released are targeted for a Tuesday release because that is just how things are done. The New Moon original soundtrack was originally going to come out on Tuesday, October 20th to stick with that process, but apparently the demand warranted getting the soundtrack into stores right away. With the movie in theaters starting on November 20th, 2009, this gives almost 40 days of listening time to purchasers of the soundtrack before they get to enjoy it up on the big screen. To pump up the excitement for the album, the label even created a website specifically for this album (linked on page 2).

If the New Moon soundtrack performs as well as the first soundtrack did in stores, they could be looking at a #1 album in just its first week of release. It will be interesting to see just how many copies leave the shelves in that first week, because record sales are counted from Monday through Sunday, and with only three days for its debut week, it will be at a slight disadvantage on the charts. Fear not though, because the word of mouth about the New Moon soundtrack has been extremely positive, and Entertainment Weekly even gave it a grade of 'A' already. A list of the tracks on the New Moon album shows that they are going into some familiar territory with the new album (compared to the first film), and that should pay off when fans get to hear the new album for the first time. The New Moon soundtrack is definitely going to be successful, and now we just have to wait and see exactly how successful.
