New Movie Releases for the Fall 2008

This could prove to be one of the hottest summers for movie releases in many years. Part of the reason is high gas prices are keeping people at home. Another reason is the excitement that goes with action-packed movies such as Ironman, Hellboy, The Dark Knight, and, of course, Indiana Jones.

Let's take a look at beyond this summer to the Fall of 08 and see what is on the horizon.

Appaloosa Is one of the rare westerns to be released this fall. It is about two friends that are hired to bring law and order to a town. It stars Ed Harris and Viggo Mortensen.

Assassination of a High School President: Release date Sept 12th. It is the story about a school reporter and his friend that investigate the theft of SAT exams. While this is going on a story of a lifetime drops into his lap that may unravel the social structure of the entire school.

Babylon A.D.: Release date Aug 29th. Vin Diesel is hired to assist a lady from Russia to Germany. She is carrying an organism that could be the next messiah. Everyone is trying to get their hands on her.

Bangkok Dangerous: Release date Aug 29th. This movie stars Nicolas Cage as a hit-man in a strange city out to kill for his underworld boss. The only thing is that he is on the list as well.

Beverly Hills Chihuahua: Release date Sept. 26th. Is a movie with the voices of Drew Barrymore and Andy Garcia, and George Lopez. Cloe is a High School girl that is also a Chihuahua that gets lost in Mexico and gets some help from a German Shepard and a romantic pup in getting home.

Blindness:Release date Sept. 19th. Stars Julianne Moore as the only person in a town that doesn't go blind. As a doctor's wife she is the only person that can help those in the town before the crazed neighbors try to take control.

Burn After Reading: Release date Sept. 12th. This movie stars Brad Pitt and George Clooney. Pitt is trying to sell secrets, while Clooney is trying to assassinate him.

City of Ember: Release date Oct. 10th. Is about two teenagers that must find out why the lights in an ancient underground city have went out. They must find and fix the cause before they are plunged into blackness forever.

Death Race: Release date Aug 22nd. Jason Statham ( a prisoner) is forced to compete in a no holds barred car race.

Harry Potter and the Half blood Prince: Release date Nov. 21st. Harry find a book with old potions that was once used by a half blood prince. With text in hand, Harry and his friends go after the Lord Voldemort. Harry is joined by Rupert Grint and Emma Watson.

Miracle at St. Anna: Release date Oct. 10th. Buffalo soldier division finds itself in Italy during World War II and one of them goes behind enemy lines to rescue a mute Italian boy.

Nights in Rodanthe: Release date Sept 12th. Stars Richard Gere and Diane Lane as two lost souls that share one romantic evening in an inn on the coast of North Carolina.

James Bond, Quantum of Solace: Release date Nov. 7th. Bond tries to hunt down the terrorist group that turned the love of his life against him. Daniel Craig plays the part of Bond.

Righteous Kill: Release date Sept. 12th. Stars Al Pacino and Robert De Niro as two detectives trying to run down a vigilante killer on the streets of New York.

Saw V: Release date Oct. 24th. Tobin Bell returns as Jigsaw.

Yes Man: Release date Dec. 19th. Stars Jim Carrey as an unhappy individual who is forced to acquire an upbeat life were he says "yes" to everything. While the new philosophy starts to improve his quality of life, it also starts to wear him down.
