AUGUST 6 NEW MOVIE TRAILERS:

The Other Guys: Another New York City cops comedy with Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell. Even fans of the genre are getting tired. It's rated PG-13 for crudeness and violence.

Middle Men: Jack Harris (Luke Wallis) is a pioneer in web-porn who gets tangled up with mobsters and murder. I never thought I'd like a movie about the porn industry until I saw Boogie Nights so it may be good. This new film is rated R for sexual content and violence.

Twelve: Batman director Joel Schumacher directs a tale about a teenage drug dealer (Chace Crawford from Gossip Girl). Gawker already asks if it's the worst movie in the history of Sundance.

Flipped: Rob Reiner directs a love story about eighth-graders (Juli Baker and Bryce Loski) that's being called familiar but cute. It's based on Wendelin Van Draanen's novel, and rated PG for language.

AUGUST 9 NEW MOVIE TRAILERS:

Eat Pray Love: A woman (Julia Roberts) starts out trying to get pregnant but then gets divorced and travels. I'm not thrilled with the story line, but the widespread hostility towards Roberts is nasty. Based on Elizabeth Gilbert's memoirs, this new film is rated PG-13 for sexual content and language.

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: Michael Cera and Mary Elizabeth Winstead star in this movie based on the geek chic comics by Bryan Lee O'Malley. It got a big boost from Comic-Con and it's rated PG-13 for violence and sex.

The Expendables: It's another Sylvester Stallone movie about shooting people. This time it's mercenaries in South America including Mickey Rourke and rated R for all that shooting.

Tales from Earthsea: This animated film about humans and dragons is directed by Goro Miyazaki, the son of the director that novelist Ursula K. Le Guin really wanted. Fans still want a better adaptation.

AUGUST 20 NEW MOVIE TRAILERS:

Piranha 3D: If you're tired of paying for 3D movies, this looks like one to skip. Piranhas just want to have food, and they're eating actors like Elisabeth Shue who should be doing better stuff anyway.

The Switch: Jennifer Aniston fans should like her as a woman who finds out her best friend secretly replaced the sperm sample she used to conceive her now 7 year old son. This new film is rated PG-13 for mature themes.

AUGUST 27 NEW MOVIE TRAILERS:

Going the Distance: Christina Applegate and Justin Long star in this comedy about a long distance relationship. It's rated R for sexual content and drugs.

The Last Exorcism: Promise? Director Daniel Stamm's bio says he hitchhiked across the US without clothes. Was he naked or just not doing laundry? It's rated PG-13.
