New MySpace Profile

Are the New MySpace Profile Editors User Friendly?

The Portland Journal
I have a bit of a gripe today... I wonder if anybody else is thinking on the same wavelength as myself?

MySpace are at it again tinkering with their wonderful little Website for social interaction, but it seems over the last few months the changes have either been good or absolutely useless!

Recently MySpace introduced their new 'User Profiles', which is all great if the profile system is as user friendly as the last system.

Unfortunately I myself have found this not to be the case, okay the actual methods in which a MySpace member, new or old can taylor their profile is pretty simple. Which is my gripe exactly... it is a little too simple, and gone have many features. Such as being able to play around with html codes, and the facility to use html code in the new customize sections is hardly wonderful.

What happen is you chose your new format and theme, you have no choice in this, although you can revert back to your 'Old Profile'.

Alas you say, this is a good move, if all fails with the new 'Profile' I can revert back... haha oh dear, well MySpace have taken your ability to change your html codes within your old profile, so you are now left with being unable to manage you MySpace Page effectively. Basically leaving you stuck with the same old format until they decide they will give you the option to change html coding back.

So why change the format so drastically?

Maybe it is to do with Facebook, Tagged, and the many other social networking sites that MySpace are losing Users to?

Without the 'User Friendly' MySpace of old I fear a mass exodus from the social networking site is on the cards. I as a musician and producer am not a big fan of the new format... I don't want to use it, yet I am being bullied into doing so if I want to continue being able to effectively manage my MySpace Account. Which looking at the new format, I am not going to be able to do as I would like to do.

My plan personally is leave my 'Band Profile' as it is and maybe move back to Vampire Freaks at http://vampirefreaks.com.

MySpace should really roll out these changes in a much more professional and friendly manner. At least giving an option to revert back to old profiles with ability to change them, that tactic would be being nice to users, and not risking a loss to 'facebook'.
