New Nabisco Oreo Fudge Rings White Fudge Striped Cookies: A Review

Are They a Slimmed Down Version of Original Nabisco Oreo Chocolate Sandwich Cookies?

JRS
It seems as though every other week the Nabisco Company comes out with some new type of '˜Oreo' cookie! This week I found the New Nabisco Oreo Fudge Rings White Striped Cookies. Nabisco must have been borrowing from Keebler's Fudge Striped cookies when they came up with these.

I often wished you could purchase separately just the chocolate cookie part of the Nabisco Oreo Sandwich Cookie. When I saw these Oreo Fudge Rings I thought they'd be close to what I wanted since there would be no crème filling involved and only little stripes of white frosting drizzled over it.

At first taste I thought these new Nabisco Oreo Fudge Rings were not bad at all. They didn't taste as I was expecting, which was that it would taste like eating half of the original Oreo Chocolate Sandwich Cookie sans the other chocolate cookie half.

The smell was similar but there was something different in the flavor of the chocolate cookie ring. The white fudge stripes tasted odd also.

Try as I might, I just couldn't get into these cookies. They were not bad tasting, mind you. It's just that all they seemed to do was make me want the original Nabisco Oreo Chocolate Sandwich cookie!

To make it worse, the package kept playing tricks on me. Lying there on top of the microwave oven in the kitchen, I'd walk past and the packaging looked so closely like the '˜real' Oreo Sandwich cookies that my heart would give a little flutter and my salivary glands would kick into gear making my mouth water for that true Chocolate Oreo Sandwich cookie flavor! This repeatedly led to disappointment on my part. Finally, I had to go out and buy a pack of the original Nabisco Oreo Chocolate Sandwich Cookies, leaving the New Nabisco Oreo Fudge Rings White Fudge Striped Cookies to sit around unwanted for another week as we devoured our old friends who remained true to their form!

Well, I don't think I'll be purchasing any more of the grown up, more '˜adult looking,' New Nabisco Oreo Fudge Rings White Fudge Striped Cookies, I even missed be able to twist them apart and eat all the parts separately or any of the other various eating practices of the '˜All American' Chocolate Oreo Sandwich Cookie!

Thus, I warn you! Do not be swayed into falling for the newest offshoot of Nabisco's Original Oreo Chocolate Sandwich Cookie, even if they are slightly lower in calories!

I had never even heard of these before your review. Thanks for sharing :)

See the reason that you can't enjoy is that you're thinking of the other cookies.

It amazes me, the kind of stuff that snack food companies come up with.

I found these while not being able to find another elusive product at a local specialty food store known for carrying off beat brands of food. Never had seen them before and didn't know if they are rare so I picked up a package. Can 't wait to sample! They also had Halloween Oreos which are also rare but I'd think the package had more or less expired at this time nearly 3 months later!

Well bummer. I haven't heard of these, and when I saw your title & the picture that went with it, I thought YUM! But after reading your review, I guess I'll stay away. You got my hopes up, and then ripped them away! LOL Great review. :-)

I've seen them but they are next to my new favorite cookie, Oreo double chocolate double stuff cookies. I just can't bring myself to buying them.
