Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier
While publishers haggled over which company would officially release Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, video game addicts were drooling over the prospect of a Tom Clancy game hitting the Wii console. The Nintendo Wii, notorious for not providing the crisp graphics and stunning imagery PlayStation 3 boasts, might finally have something with the latest installment in the Ghost Recon series.
Game play, which features invisible combat fatigues, tank drones and a Military Channel-esque bluish green interface, looks more promising than the Hawx fighter jet effort. Although players are torn over whether they like the futuristic combat direction this Clancy installment takes, I have no doubt it'll be well worth playing.
The release date is slated for sometime in fall 2010. Ghost Recon: Future Soldier will also be available for XBOX 360 and PlayStation 3. The game is currently rating pending.
Super Mario Galaxy 2
This Super Mario Galaxy sequel is close enough to touch with a release date scheduled on May 23, 2010. Kids in fact and kids at heart will once again divulge their galaxy-hopping obsessions with Mario and Yoshi.
Complete obstacle courses, float through Arctic mountains, fly through rivers of lava and taste the honey inside honeycombs in the new installment. Follow new mission paths, burst bubbles and find comet medals to unlock new galaxies, all to the soundtrack of an epically heroic score.
Super Mario Galaxy 2 is rated E for Everyone.
Red Steel 2
Red Steel 2 disappoints with less-than-sharp video game imagery, but for players with their sights on plenty of gunfight and ninja combat action, this is the game for you.
Although there's not much substance to the storyline itself, Red Steel 2 maintains its place in the hearts of shoot 'em up players. According to 1up.com, Red Steel 2 is little more than a "futuritized Wild West" with "gunslinging ninja cowboys." Red Steel focuses on player completion of missions that require weapon upgrades and nifty body armor. Users should get prepare themselves for a slightly noticeable latency between the time they make a move to the time their actions appear onscreen.
Red Steel 2 is available for Wii only. The game is rated "T" for teen.
