New Orleans Embarrasses Brady, Pats, 38-17; Stay Perfect

Still, No Super Bowl This Year I'll Wager

Gary Davis
The New Orleans Saints clobbered the New England Patriots, 38-17 down in the Who Dat? It was a game for awhile. I predicted the Saints were going to beat New England 41-31 and if the Saints had a kicker I would have been right on their score. However when it came to the final score between the New Orleans Saints and the New England patriots even I did not think that the Saints would win by 21 points. I think you have to consider New Orleans a Super Bowl Contender and I think you have to wonder about New England.

Simply New England has issues with its Offensive line. I don't care how good your quarterback is if he has no time you aren't going to be a week-in and week-out winner.

On the other hand how do you keep up with New Orleans? They have got so many weapons that you can't. Further they have brought in some defensive players that are playing like they've been there for years.

It is like I said in my previous article the Saints are a great team; New England still has stars but they have too many "team weaknesses."

And, it was the arena. You knew it was going to play a role and it did.

Drew Brees is a man possessed. He has taken a back seat for years to Tom Brady and Peyton Manning and he shouldn't have been. He has developed his skills and now he has got the receiving group to give him the same chance as the other two.

Where do we go from here?

Are the New Orleans Saints the hands down Super Bowl Champs? I don't think so.

I think that the New Orleans Saints are better than the Indianapolis Colts. I believe they are better than the New England Patriots. I'll go even further and say that Brees currently is playing better than Brady or Manning.

As much as it hurts me to say it and as much as I would love to see the Saints win the Super Bowl I don't think they are going to get a shot at it this year.

The team from the NFC is going to be the Minnesota Vikings. The difference is the defense.

Now a lot of things can go wrong. People who like to predict sports are even worse than weather people and not as accurate.

Still, at the end of the day the Vikings will have defeated the Chargers for the ring.

On the other hand maybe there is still time to adjust my thinking.

However this was my first prediction of this season and I nailed it although the score was a little more lopsided than I predicted.

Therefore I have given myself a 1-0 record.

Vikings better than the Saints because of defense? Really?...let's look at who that defense has stacked up against:

VIKINGS Opp's @/above .500 at game time = 5 (and they lost to one of 'em, remember?); SAINTS Opp's @/above .500 at game time = 6 (they're still undefeated, remember?).
