New Orleans Saints 2011 Schedule: Will They Win the NFC South?

Atlanta Won't Stop Them

Gary Davis
The New Orleans Saints were in the playoffs in 2010 after winning the Super Bowl for the 2009 season. They did not come in boldly, rather as a wild card team in the shadow of the 13-3 Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons held the Saints' record from 2009. What will the New Orleans Saints do in 2011?

I think the Saints will come back in 2011. Coach Sean Payton and quarterback Drew Brees are too determined to let any type of apathy set in on the Saints.

How will the New Orleans Saints do against the NFC South?

Outside of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers beating the Saints at Tampa Bay, I think New Orleans will win all the other games. That means they sweep the Falcons and the Panthers and finish 5-1 against their division.

How will the New Orleans Saints do on the road against nondivision teams?

The Saints play Green Bay, Minnesota, Tennessee, Jacksonville and St. Louis on the road. I believe they will lose to Green Bay and be upset by the Rams. However, they will defeat the Vikings, Titans and Jaguars. That will give them a nondivisional road record of 3-2.

The Saints against nondivision teams at home:

I think the Saints have a fairly easy nondivisional home schedule. They play my Chicago Bears, the Lions, Giants, Texans and Colts. I believe the Saints will lose one game at home. I know that you're figuring I'm picking the Bears to beat them. No, I think the Lions will upset the Saints. New Orleans will defeat the Bears, Giants, Houston Texans and Indianapolis Colts. Going 4-1 gives them a 12-4 record.

A 12-4 record in 2011 will be good enough for the Saints to win the NFC South I believe.

While these schedules are news, I always like to add the codicil that no writer or sports pundit can pick every winner of every game for the next year. I may miss one or two. However, I present this to you for the sports' fans greatest enjoyment-argument.
