Drew Brees, Tracy Porter, Darren Sharper, Will Smith and Deuce McAllister, the Saint's ambassador all showed up in drizzling rain for the debut of the new CD and to watch the premier of the Saint's journey to Super Bowl stardom over the 2009 season.
The Super Bowl stars were met with lots of fans, reporters and cameras as they made their entrance on the red carpet. Once inside the theater reporters continued their mission to get comments and statements from the players. Once the curtain went up, the commotion stopped.
Sharper needed the assistance of crutches while walking down the red carpet due to recent knee surgery on his left knee. He spoke with reporters inside while he sat down on a bench to relieve his knee. Sharper is a free agent, but refused to discuss that situation with reporters Monday night. He wanted to stay focused on the Super Bowl win.
Drew Brees had this to say about winning the Super Bowl, "It's something that will be fresh in my mind for as long as I live. Hopefully, we have some more moments like that. But obviously I'm very excited about the future of this team."
Approximately 300 people were in attendance for the premiere of the Saints Super Bowl LXIV DVD, including mayor-elect Mitch Landrieu.
Sales of the new DVD produced by Warner Bros. and Dan Klores went on sale at midnight, March 8, 2010. The Saints Super Bowl LXIV Champ DVD retails for $24.99 and can be purchased online or at various retail outlets.
Several personal appearances have been scheduled to promote the new DVD locally. Darren Sharper will be at the FYI music store in Slidell, LA from noon to 2:00 pm on Tuesday, while Deuce McAllister promotes the DVD at Dick's Sporting Goods at the Mall of Louisiana in Baton Rouge, LA today from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. On Wednesday, March 10, 2010, Jonathan Vilma will be signing DVD's at the Barnes & Noble in Metairie, LA from noon until 2:00 pm.
