New Parent Car Seat Installation Help

Having a new baby is an exciting time in life. There are many things to look forward to, so many memories to make as you start your new family. There are also a lot of questions new parents have about raising a child. These questions often include safety issues.

Because we live in a high commute area, traffic safety should be a primary concern for any new parent. The question is, "How can I ensure my child is safe while I drive?"

Obvious answers are:
--Don't drive fast or reckless
--Don't drive while on the phone or texting
--If the baby needs attention, pull over to the side of the road--don't try to assist while driving
--Have a proper car seat for the weight and size of your baby, properly installed in the rear seat.

For this last suggestion, many parents are unsure how to properly install the car seat. If you are a Sunnyvale resident and need someone to show you how to install your car seat, you can get help through the Department of Public Safety in Sunnyvale.
