Proposed stations would serve Blairstown and Andover in New Jersey and Scranton, Tobyhanna, Pocono Mountain, Analomink, East Stroudsburg, and Delaware Water Gap in Pennsylvania.
This is not a new built trailway but it a renewed railway. It is a 550$ million dollar project. The train will run from Scranton, Pennsylvania, to Hoboken, New Jersey, and it will make a total of four stops. It is known that it will reduce traffic and the amount of cars on the road which is good for pollution. A lot of people will rely on this railroad such as Keystone Propane and other major/minor companies. People that are commuting and do not have transportation of their own will rely on the transportation.
A lot of people that live in the Scranton/surrounding areas are disagreeing with this idea and has since the idea was first brought up. This train may be great for more visitors and a slight increase in jobs, but I for one do not want to see this happen. Our streets have become increasingly worse over the years and the trailway will make it even worse for the people that actually have to live here.
Others will use the train for illegal purposes and it will bring more drugs, street crime, and criminal activity. My house is not valued at a high price but once the traffic starts coming in, I am going to sell my house for an upscale NJ price. Also, the schools will become less educated and overpopulated. I do not want to raise my kids in this area as it becomes increasingly worse.
