Brave: A Warriors Tale (August 4th): This action adventure game takes place in a world inspired by the myths of Native American tribes. You hero, of course, is a hardcore warrior but he can also turn into different animals when he feels like it. This game will be released on all systems but some of the best graphics for this adventure will be found on the XBOX.
G. I. Joe: Rise of Cobra (August 4th): Here is another game that is having a huge wide release. This action game is based on the movie coming out in August as wel. If you have been a gamer for a while you know that most games based on movies don't turn out that good but at least this game will feature its own original story that takes place after the movie. It also promises some new heroes and bad guys to peak your interest.
TMNT: Turtles in Time ReShelled (August 5th): If you played in arcades before they were contained on X-Box live you most likely remember this great button masher involving your favorite turtles in the half shell. I consider it to be the best of the TMNT franchise. The game has been given a graphics update and can be downloaded on X-BOX Live this August in case you had missed it the first time around or want to experience it all over again.
Raven Squad (August 11th): This action, explosion filled game follows a group of mercenaries who have fallen behind enemy lines. The game involves brute force but also strategies as you have a squad of eight soldiers that all have different abilities. It will take all your skills to escape the Amazon jungle with your men alive.
Madden 10 (August 14th) The next in this long line of amazing football games should not be missed by any sports game fan. The new edition offers up Pro-Talk, a game mode that allows all new levels of control for the player and the X-BOX version offers graphics that are simply amazing.
Wolfenstein (August 18th): The next chapter in this classic first person shooter provides a whole new level of graphics for the series and a story that takes place deep behind enemy lines at a hospital where the Nazi are doing all sorts of experiments they shouldn't. For fans of first person shooters this should be the highlight of the month.
Shadow Complex (August 18th): The side scrolling action game lost a lot of its popularity once 3D became the way most games were made. Still there were a lot of great games that used this style like Super Metroid and the Mega Man games. Now a new title with a rich and deep story, and amazing visuals is coming out for the X-Box. The world is based on Orson Scott Card's book Empire.
Batman: Arkham Asylum (August 25th): It has been a while since a good Batman game has been made but this dark, tale set in one of the most famous prisons in pop culture looks to be quite the adventure. All of your favorite super villains from Batman's past have set a trap to keep him locked up in Arkham with them and he must battle his way out. The game looks very well made with a very dark mood and tight game play.
Section 8 (August 25th): There are many first person shooters that come out for the XBOX and so often it can be hard for one to set themselves apart. Section 8 tries to be different by offering a large-scale sci-fi adventure with a focus on tactics. The player is in control of a squad of elite of infantry in power armor. There are a lot of sci-fi shooters coming out lately but if you need one more, Section 8 has you covered.
Fallout Expansions (August 3rd and 18th): Its hard to go a month without some new content for the best selling game Fallout 3. In August not only will players get the chance to own the 5th expansion for the game but also a new add on. The expansion that comes out first is called Mothership Zeta and involves an alien abduction where the player gets to explore a large space ship filled with other humans who have been taken over the years. The add-on (called Broken Steel and Lookout Point) comes out later in the month. The add-on includes a new adventure that goes beyond the main storyline and a new swampland area known as Lookout Point.
Red Faction: Guerilla Expansions (August 13th): Three expansion packs are being released all on the same day for this big action first person shooter. Only one has been given a title at this time (Demons of the Badlands) but all three will offer new missions or other content to expand the experience for those who are still very into this game.
