New Rock Songs in 2009 - Top 10 Best New Songs of 2009

Robert Slonaker
This year looks like it will be a special year for music in our country. Personally I always search the web in order to find some good new music that I might not have got the chance to hear yet. Trying to find some good music to have isn't as easy as it seems for most people. A lot of people are so busy and caught up in their own lives that it is hard to find the best, new music that is being released. So here is a list of my favorite rock songs in 2009. They all not might have been released in 2009, but are now reaching some popularity in early 2009. The best new songs are not in any particular order, but are just a compiled list of good songs to download or purchase.

My Top 10 Best New Songs In 2009

10. "Black Rose" by Trapt

This single is of Trapt's new album "Only Through The Pain," is a great song that has the same old sound from the band. They released their new album on August 5 of 2008 and have come out with a few singles already. I think the song "Black Rose" is a great new song in 2009 for rock lovers to jam to. This should be on top of the list of the best songs in 2009.

9. "Broken Road" by 12 Stones

"Broken Road" is a new song off the "Anthem for the Underdog" album that was released on August 14, 2007. However this single is now reaching a lot of popularity for the 2009 year. This would be the fifth single to make the U.S. Mainstream Rock charts if it makes it. 12 stones offer a great, rugged rock and roll sound that has caught the ear of many people. Most likely will be one of the best songs in 2009 if people keep listening and downloading.

8. "Graves" by Tokyo Police Club

With the release of their latest LP "Elephant Shell" on a new label (Saddle Creek), the band looks to expand their following. If you have never heard them they have a quick funky sound with a dash of new wave punk rock. Their genre is Canadian indie rock and Tokyo Police Club has become very popular in Canada and are becoming very well known in the U.S.A.

7. "New Tattoo" by Saving Abel

This single is off their self titled album "Saving Abel" and it is the third single the band has on this album. The other two very popular songs by Saving Abel are "18 Days" and "Addicted," which were climbing the rock charts for many weeks. They have developed a loyal following in the year 2008 and they look to capitalize on that in 2009.

6. "Human" by The Killers

If you don't like any other of The Killers' songs, this probably isn't the track for you. This single is off their new album "Day and Age" which is going to be a big album in the year 2009. It wasn't released until late 2008 and it has many great tracks on it. The Killers came back with their funky sound and great lyrics. They have a sound that is one of a kind in their music.

5. "Up All Night" by Hinder

Hinder is doing it big with their new single from the "Take It to The Limit" album which will was released in late 2008, but will be taking over the charts in 2009. Hinder in the past few years have developed a huge and devoted following of many people. The "Up All Night" track is a great party song for all the hardcore party people. It's a lively song and it will definitely get people out of their seats. This song is one of my personal favorites here in early 2009. It will be ranked up there as one of the best songs in 2009.

4. "Don't Go Away" by Buckcherry

This single is off Buckcherry's new album "Black Butterfly." It's a slower rock song from Buckcherry and has a great sound. It will be a winner with many people and will be one of the best songs in 2009. Another good song off this album to check out is "Rescue Me." The "Black Butterfly" album was released in September 2008. It will be reaching its prime in 2009 and will probably have a couple of the best songs in 2009.

3. "Audience of One" by Rise Against

This single is off the album "Appeal to Reason" and is a great song worthy of having in your collection. Rise Against is one of the top underground punk/rock bands out there. They have a big following because of their great tunes. "Appeal to Reason" was released in 2008 and is the band's fifth album released. "Audience of One" is a great track for your library and will be one of my top best songs in 2009.

2. "You Found Me" by The Fray

This single has reached popularity in 2008, but it is one of the best songs in 2009 so far. "You Found Me" is off The Fray's newest album "The Fray." This song is like many other Fray songs because of its great sound and powerful lyrics. This is easily one of the best songs in 2009 to me. I will be jamming it for a long time until some more singles come out from The Fray.

1. "Gotta Be Somebody" by Nickelback

This is a great song from Nickelback and everyone can easily sing along. This will increase its popularity I'm sure, so it will become one of the best songs in 2009. This single is off their new album entitled "Dark Horse." This band definitely knows how to put out hit songs that everyone loves. They have become a dominate band over time and it has been awesome watching them grow. Check out "Something in Your Mouth" and "I'd Come for You" by Nickelback. These singles are also off the new albums and will most likely be a couple of the best songs in 2009.

Nickelback? Not sure if I fully agree with the list as being rock. Kind of more light rock poppish stuff don't you think?

    nickelback?

This reviewer lost all credibility with me. I would rather listen to nails on a chalkboard. Nickelback is the musical equivalent to an abortion!

Where is alice in chains "check my brain"
why is nickelback #1 on this list.... that is pop music... just like that song from the fray... this ain't rock...

Whoever compiled the information and sources must have been slightly off.. yeah you can sing along to a nickelback song, but you can also sing along to the theme to Reading Rainbow... doesn't make it a rock dumbass... this list should have been titled, "Top 10 Songs If You Hear on the Radio Again, Your Killing Somebody"
