New Solar Powered Train with MagLev High Speed Capabilities Coming Soon

Could Be Coming to Your City in a Few Years

There is no denying that consumers are on an environmentally conscious journey. What I mean by this is that they are looking at all the different ways in which they can be friendly to their environment. Probably the most popular choice is seeking out an automobile that is electric, hydrogen powered, or runs on solar power. Those who do not own a car because they live in the city have cried out loud for a more energy efficient train system. Francisco Lupin's Eco4 Energy Saving Train might bring the change.

Lupin's concept was entered into the recent YouRail Train Interior Design Contest. The goal was to create a concept train for the company Bombardier. They are currently developing their own line of energy saving trains and wanted to hear from some of the brightest minds in the world. Lupin brought them a solar powered train that is made up of both lightweight materials and MagLev technology. Together they end up creating a faster and more energy efficient train.

A closer look at Lupin's concept leaves you incredibly impressed. He did much more than design an environmentally friendly train. In the middle of the train will be additional seating that comes in the form of a long bench that goes from end to end. A cool aspect is that there will be buttons throughout the train so that a commuter can simply press the button when their stop comes up. If nobody has to get off or on at the next stop the train can simply continue on it's way.

In order to for the train to run it will have solar panels mounted on the top of it. The solar panel with provide the power to run and also will give the energy needed to provide lighting and unique charging stations for commuter's electronics. Lupin also incorporated the ability for the solar panels to rotate so that the train could get the most sunlight possible while driving along. The incorporated MagLev technology would then be utilized to help the train run much more smoother than the outdated ones being used today.

If you are looking for a true environmentally friendly train design you should look no further. This young man has created a concept that is not based on pure fantasy and could actually work. Those people in the know have expressed their excitement over the design and it is more than likely that it will be selected as a winner. We will more than likely see the company attempt to design this train and see what the public thinks of it. It is my belief that this could very well be the future of commuting.
