New Spider Species Discovered

Greg Seltz
Though I intend on keeping this article brief, as various details have yet to be discovered and released, I fail to possess the patience required. The attached link, with due appreciation to National Geographic, says it all. For those interested, a brief summary has been constructed to provide the minimal details thus known.

Recently discovered in the Sands of Samar, Israel, is the largest spider of its type in the Middle East. Known as Cerbalus aravensis, due to its relation and residence in the Arava region, the nocturnal species has a rough leg span of nearly 6 inches. The Sands of Samar is considered to be in the process of endangerment, as nearly half of the territory has been reduced to incorporate agricultural and mining sources. Naturally, science requests that preservation of the dune be initiated in order to eliminate the extinction of the associated species, along with others who rely on the land. Hopefully, we will have additional details after research is conducted on this magnificent, and interesting new spider.

Ugggh. At least it wasn't discovered near me. I hate spiders. I know they have their place in the natural world, but I want them to keep as far away from me as possible.

That is about five inches bigger than any spider really needs to be, but still fascinating creatures

I couldn't get to sleep last night - didn't sleep until past 3am! It's catching up with me now.

That is one freaky looking spider. Looks like it has a face of an old man with a mustache. I can't imagine coming across anything like that. Yuck!
