New Spring 2009 TV Shows that Should Not Be Canceled

Michelle M. Guilbeau
Many of the new Spring television shows get canceled fairly quickly due to low viewer ratings. Although it is difficult to know a shows success until it has been viewed a few times, I have high hopes that the following new TV will not be canceled.

Wipeout

ABC-Premiers Sunday, February 1-during halftime and after the big game

Although this show is more of a reality based program, the reviews so far are saying this family show is going to be a lot of fun to watch, lets hope it is true.

This funny reality television show will feature 24 contestants of all ages and sizes competing in the world's largest obstacle course. Each week there will be 24 new contestants and the grand prize will be 50,000 dollars.

Glee

Fox-Premieres Spring 2009

The musical comedy series will have 13 episodes and the storyline is based on a high school musical teacher who is trying get the Glee Club to make a turn around and get the less than motivated performers to make it to the top competition which is Nationals. The TV series will feature a list of popular and well known songs from the past and also the present. I personally enjoy musicals and I hoping the variety of songs that will be incorporated into the series will help to make it a success.

In The Motherhood

ABC-Premiers Thursday, March 26/7 pm Central Time

This new comedy will include the characters, Rosemary (Megan Mullally), Jane (Cheryl Hines) and Emily (Jessica St. Clair) as their role of Mother. The sitcom will focus on the role of Motherhood, work and love life while trying to manage all the areas efficiently and staying sane in a world that can be complicated and busy. The really interesting concept of this show is that the TV show stories will be inspired by real life stories of the viewers that post on the website. This ideas intrigues me and I am so curious to see the stories that will be presented on this show, I am really hoping for this one to not be canceled.

Castle

ABC-Premiers Monday, March 9- 9 pm Central Time

Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion) is a famous mystery novelist and he finds out that a real life killer is copying murder scenes that come straight out his novels. The NYPD detective Kate Beckett (Stana Katic) questions Richard Castle about the murders. At first the two do not get along but then an interest for each other starts to develop as Richard helps to solve the crime. Richard and Kate continue to solve murders together that happen in New York and their love interest increasingly develops.

Kings

NBC-2 hour Premier Sunday, March 15- 7 pm Central Time

The show is set in a modern metropolitan area that is under siege, the fighting had gone on for a long period of time and many lives were lost. David Shepherd is a brave soldier who rescues the king's son and motions are set that will bring peace back once again. David becomes Captain and is adored by many females including the king's daughter. The constant struggle for David between enemies and friends in the kingdom is the focal point of the storyline.

The Spring TV shows will hopefully stick around, it is so disappointing when shows are canceled so quickly. I believe that sometimes the networks jump the gun on shows and need to give some of the new shows a little more time.
