The Starbucks Perfect Oatmeal is available with several pre-measured (at 100 calories each) toppings including assorted dried fruit, mixed nuts, and a small packet of brown sugar (at 50 calories). The Starbucks Perfect Oatmeal itself has only 140 calories and several grams of fiber and protein. I find that I prefer either the dried fruit topping with my Starbucks Perfect Oatmeal or the mixed nuts. I generally avoid the brown sugar packet in favor of a packet of Splenda or Sweet'N Low, since I am trying to avoid added sugar in my diet.
The Starbucks Perfect Oatmeal sells for $2.45 which makes it a perfect small meal for a breakfast or a healthy snack that is both filling and satisfying. Many of the regular breakfast options at Starbucks are less-than-healthy, but the Starbucks Perfect Oatmeal is delicious, affordable, and healthy.
The Starbucks Perfect Oatmeal is prepared individually by a Starbucks barista, and it is recommended that you let your Starbucks Perfect Oatmeal sit for three minutes before eating so it can firm up and congeal. Unfortunately I have noticed quite a bit of variation in how much water the Starbucks baristas use to prepare the Starbucks Perfect Oatmeal, which means that the recommended wait time of three minutes may have to be increased or decreased depending on your personal preference for how thick or thin you prefer your Perfect Oatmeal. I prefer my Starbucks Perfect Oatmeal with a thicker consistency, so I will often let my cup of Perfect Oatmeal sit for five-plus minutes before I eat it so it is nice and hearty for me. This is not so much a criticism of Starbucks Perfect Oatmeal so much as something that is a highly subjective quality.
Although Starbucks Perfect Oatmeal is primarily a breakfast item, the Perfect Oatmeal is available all day at most Starbucks locations. I often get a cup of the Perfect Oatmeal for an evening snack while on my break from my retail job, and I find that Starbucks Perfect Oatmeal is the perfect combination of healthy, affordable, and filling for a small meal or for a filling snack. In conclusion, the new Perfect Oatmeal from Starbucks is a satisfying new breakfast item on the Starbucks menu.
