A new trend in residential lighting and remodeling is popping up in homes all over. Today, more and more consumers are looking for energy efficient products for their homes. Whether they need a floor lamp or a new microwave, they are picking up those items that have the Energy Star logo listed on it. Energy Star products save money and help the environment which has become appealing to the new homeowner. Stores now offer a wide range of energy efficient lighting and appliances making it easy to be energy efficient. Manufacturers are also making more energy efficient lights, which will make it easier when it comes to building a new home.

Energy Star is the label to look for when searching for new products for your home. Energy Star is a government backed program helping to save money and protect the environment through energy efficient products and practices. This label can be found on products such as, residential lighting including ceiling fans, recessed lighting, track lighting, outdoor lighting and more; plus you will also see that label on home appliances such as washers and dryers, microwaves, air conditioning systems and air purifiers. Not only do these particular products save consumers money on their energy bills, they also help prevent greenhouse gas emissions and protect the environment. All this while still looking stylish.

Some of the trends we're seeing today in Energy Star products are ceiling fans and bathroom fixtures that use fluorescent bulbs and feature a wide range of styles. Manufacturers like Minka, have improved fluorescent lighting for the outdoors by making flicker-free electronic ballasts in styles that range from traditional to more contemporary. Now, fluorescent lights no longer have that flutter when turned on and they also have an array of designs allowing your client to pick the lights that go best with their personal style. As far as appliances go, you can find the newest styles in modern fixtures. Like the new washers that clean clothes using 50% less energy than standard washers. If you want a fixture that will look good, save you money and help the environment, just look for the Energy Star symbol when buying lighting and appliances for the home.
