New Twilight Book Release, the Short Second Life of Bree Tanner: An Eclipse Novella

A Short Story Worth the Pre-order?

Lori Lane
Stephenie Meyer's The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner: An Eclipse Novella is scheduled to be released on June 5, 2010. The new Twilight book was inspired between editing The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.

The Twilight Saga includes Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn. But does the next book focus on the beloved dark tale of Edward Cullen and Bella Swan? Surprisingly, no.

The vampire Twilight Saga begins as vampire meets girl, girl is tempted, girl falls for vamp, vamp falls for girl. Then comes New Moon where girl meets werewolf, werewolf falls for girl, girl falls for werewolf but falls harder for vampire. After New Moon comes Eclipse as girl graduates, turns into woman, and considers her wedding day bite in turning into vampire to live happily ever after in vampland. Oh yeah, and there's some scary obstacles between the first and last minute of the story.

But then comes Breaking Dawn where woman turns into wife, wife becomes pregnant with baby creature, baby creature comes into the world where vampire daddy and mommy protects it from others. Don't ask why the baby is named Renesmee. It appears that the author just made it up because they didn't want to use a traditional name. Personally, I would have called the baby Gremtisia.

What's up with The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner?

This new Twilight book covers some areas where certain characters should be explained. Originally it was to be in Twilight: The Official Guide yet was too big to add so a new book was born.

Who is Bree Tanner?

Bree Tanner was killed by Felix after being tortured by Jane for breaking the Volturi law. Bree had an infatuation of thirst to Bella's blood, but followed Carlisle's rule after surrendering to the Cullen character. The rule of not biting a human. Bree was turned into a vampire for the sake of assisting Victoria. You remember Victoria, don't you? The crazy red head avenging her vamp man's death. The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner reflects Bree's story and how she came to be.

I'm sold on the idea of this new upcoming release. To figure out Bree's world would be as complex as reading minds. But I'm into it. Each first print sale in the U.S. offers a $1 donation to the American Red Cross. It's funny in a way. The blood sucking book actually assists in blood banks.

Love your book review! Thanks also for the bare bones explanation as to who's who ... it gets complicated when the blood drinkers wish they weren't, the wolves also walk on two legs, the humans want to be anything but...
