New Twitter Version Opens Up Across Platform

If you're a frequent user of the popular social networking platform Twitter, chances are that you've probably noticed today that a new interface and expanded features have rolled out onto your home page. The new version of Twitter is similar to features that have been seen on the growing micro-blog platform Tumblr which has gained an increasing amount of attention over recent months. It seems as though Twitter is taking a similar approach in attempts to easy the use and simplicity of the platform.

Like most major websites that accompany a new user interface, adjusting to the new version of Twitter may take some getting used to, but as for now the new interface seems to be gaining appreciation among users. Although the new style has not yet become available to all Twitter users, many are already expressing their opinions via tweets.

@Lucian Lam -"Finally, the #NewTwitter for moi. I like the new UI upgrade, definitely more useful to have more things presented to me at the same time."

@teknoarcanist- "King of digging #NewTwitter. No longer feel like an archaeologist when dissecting @ conversations between other people."

To those who are not already familiar with the website, perhaps the new version will now interest you. A major reason as to why many people have not already established an account with Twitter was due to difficulty in navigating and understanding the website. So what exactly does the new version of Twitter have to offer its users?

Unlike the original Twitter version, the new user interface is considerately more welcoming to media uploads now, offering users a quick and easy way to view tweets, image and media uploads as well as linking conversations among users. Essentially, this feature significantly reduces the amount of time spent searching for navigation bars and transitioning between pages, as you can now view all of your important updates from your home page. Another feature the new interface has adopted is the ability to see which users have re-tweeted your posts, very similar to Tumblr's re-blog feature.

As for whether the new user interface will satisfy its users remains to be seen, as the new version has not fully been established for each account. Over the upcoming weeks Twitter plans to have the new design activated for each of its users. But for now, most users still have the ability to transfer back to the original Twitter if it is preferred.
