New and Unique Birthday Party Games

When it comes to planning a birthday party, sometimes it is nice to have a few new and unique birthday games to share. Creating these simple games is a fun way to integrate younger and older guests, bridging the age barrier common with many birthday party games.

Questions and Answers

With old photos of the birthday girl or boy, edit pictures to show just a small portion of the photo. Add the photo to a folder on your computer and continue until there are five to ten photos in the folder. Rename the photos one through ten, or whatever final number is applicable. Next, add the original photos to the folder and rename them with numbers following the edited versions. For instance, if the edited photos are one through ten, the originals would be eleven through twenty.

On a piece of paper, write down a question about each of the photos. Questions should pertain to the birthday boy or girl, such as "Where am I?" or "How old was I in the photo?" Harder questions can be used for younger guests such as "What color shirt am I wearing?" or "How many stripes are on my shirt?" Burn the photos in order on a CD or DVD. When guests arrive, play the pictures in the correct order on a TV or computer and ask the questions that correspond with the edited photos.

Birthday Party Create Your Own Adventure

This fun and entertaining game takes a bit more time to create, but is well worth the effort. Create three or four Mad Lib style stories and leave out nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs along the way. It is important to create more than one story, because when the game is played, reading the same story over and over again and quickly becomes boring.

In another document, make a number list asking guests to provide the words left out from each story. A unique list will need to be created for each of the adventures. Once complete, there are two ways to bring the stories to life. One is to use the print screen function on a personal computer to capture the document as a picture file. Burn the photo to a DVD and play on the television when guests have completed their worksheets. As you read each story, include the nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs in the correct places. The second alternative is to print off each story and read the stories with the guest supplied words.

New and unique birthday party games are a perfect way to give guests a little fun without resorting to the same old song and dance.
