This first recycling tip has been around a long time. I can remember my Dad doing this and even now so does my husband. Using old pantyhose to polish and buff their boots and shoes! Let me tell you, it works like a charm!
Old pantyhose can work as a great rope or string. If you need to tie something together but do not have any string old pantyhose works wonderfully for this. This would work well in the garden to tie your plants.
Now this next tip I have never tried but I think it would work, especially for small kids or seniors. Put your bar soap in the foot of the hose and cut and tie a knot. This makes it easier to handle and easy to find when dropped. It also helps use up all of the soap when it gets too tiny to handle.
I have just recently come across this next tip and I was very impressed and thrilled by it! It makes you ask yourself why you never thought of it before. Cut a leg off of a pair of pantyhose and put over the nozzle on your vacuum cleaner. It is great for finding lost small parts or pieces. The suction brings it up without sucking it all the way in. The pantyhose stops it and you can then retrieve it. Brilliant!
The legs of old pantyhose make a great caddy for your wrapping paper and even wall paper. It will keep them contained and help prevent tears and rips. I tend to over buy wrapping paper at Christmas and always have some left over. Doing this will keep it to the next year and in great shape.
Another great gardening tip for your old pantyhose is using the legs of pantyhose to store your garden fresh onions. This year I searched and searched for a good way to hang the onions up. Putting the onions in the legs will keep the air circulating and makes a great storage place for them. This may could even work for potatoes too.
Now next time you get a run keep those pantyhose! You may be surprised to find some other unique ways you can use them.
