Honda CR-Z- The reviews for Honda sports car have been entirely flattering so far. For instance, James Bell of Kelley Blue Book got to test drive the car. Although he was not allowed to comment on it, what he could say was that the popular words of Colin Chapman, an English engineer still rung true: "To add speed, add lightness." One may think that a combination sports car and hybrid is an impossible thing to have, but from the review so far, it is not only possible, it is real. For more of what James Bell had to say, read about it here. Along with the speed of a VTEC 4 cylinder engine, the CR-Z is expected to have an amazing sound system consisting of 160-Watt AM/FM/CD Audio System with MP3/windows with MP3/Windows Media® Audio (WMA) playback capability and 6 Speakers. The 2011 CR-Z is anticipated to be released in the summer of 2010.
Scion xB- The 2011 xB retains many of the same features of the 2010 version. The car comes with a 2.4 liter, 158 horsepower engine and can get 22 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. According to a review written for Edmunds.com, it includes a larger armrest, larger center console, reverse lights, and telescopic wheel. The thing that has always taken me a bit to get used to with the Scions is the position of the gauges in the center of the console. However, based off of the reviews written, it is something that someone like myself could easily get over.
Ford Edge- The 2011 Ford Edge is expected to continue the great tradition of Ford's crossover. To stay competitive in the market, Ford is offering this version of the Edge with several options. According to Edmunds, there are a choice of three different engines available. There are two different V6 engines; one that puts out 285 horse power and one that is like a Mustang engine, putting out 305 horse power. The other engine, which won't be available until the end of the year, is a 2.0-liter ecologically friendly engine which should give about fifteen percent higher fuel efficiency than the V6. Also included in the Edge will be Ford's new MyFord Touch entertainment system, which uses reconfigurable screens in the gauge cluster and a large touch screen in the center console. More information about the car can be found here.
Toyota Sienna- Continuing in a review of crossovers and mini-vans, the 2011 Toyota Sienna tries to incorporate entertainment and power into its mini-van package. The sound system, according to Edmunds.com, is well equipped to fill any cavern. Also, for those who are up to five feet eight inches in height, they will be able to enjoy the La-Z-Boy quality of the seats and the comfort that they offer. As for speed, the Sienna can go 0-60 MPH in 7.9 seconds and can go a quarter mile at 15.8 mph. So Toyota offers with their vehicle not only comfort and entertainment, but speed as well. Hyundai Santa Fe- I've saved what I believe is the best for last. This may have something to do with the fact that I currently own a 2005 Santa Fe and love it. The overall look and style of the car has not changed in years, and this is what Hyundai plans on continuing with in this model. There is talk of there being heated seats offered with some models of the car, as well as a sun roof, navigation system, and a rearview camera. For more information about the new Santa Fe, feel free to read here.
