New Water for Elephants Trailer Released : the Movie Premieres 14th April
Will Water for Elephants Make Robert Pattinson a New Hollywood Leading Man
The trailer begins with Robert Pattinson losing his place at veterinary college and heading out into the great unknown in the depression rid late 1920's.
He comes across a downtrodden second rate circus, and uses his skills at dealing with animals to gain employment there, and soon falls in love with the elephant trainer's wife, played by Reese Witherspoon.
Water For Elephants is a classic tale of an illicit love affair, which a cruel husband finds out about, and you know that the outcome isn't going to be pleasant.
With this movie being a big departure for Robert Pattinson, critics are asking whether this leading role will result in him being named as one of Hollywood's leading men, in the same category as Errol Flynn and Cary Grant, or more recently Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise.
The public views on whether Robert Pattinson deserves to qualify for this legendary status are swinging wildly at both ends of the scale, proving that the majority of movie fans either love or hate Robert Pattinson, it's one or the other and not too many people to be found sitting on the fence.
Reese Witherspoon on the other hand has already achieved fame as a leading lady, but I have to admit that judging by the trailers for Water For Elephants and also the photographs that have been released, she has never looked more stunning. She has something in her expression that reminds you of the old time stars, such as Mae West or Greta Garbo, and this may work in helping to make Water For Elephants a box office success for 2011.
The movie premieres in Los Angeles on 14th April at Grauman's Chinese Theater in Hollywood, and is set for general release in the USA on 22nd April. Audiences in the UK and Ireland will have to wait another month though, since the release date of Water For Elephants has been moved back several weeks to 4th May 2011.
