Many refrain from eating avocado because they believe it has too much fat, but the fat in an avocado is monosaturated which is better than the saturated fats that are more common in other foods included in our diet. Additionally, avocados have more protein than almost every other fruit. So stop passing those avocados up and remember how much you like guacamole when you try these new ways to eat avocados.
In a Green Salad: Spicing up your regular salad with avocado is quick and easy. Prepare your favorite salad as you normally would and top with diced avocado. Add dressing if desired.
In an Omelet: Adding avocado to your favorite omelet brings a different texture and complementary taste to the other ingredients. After beating the eggs dice the avocado along with the ingredients you regularly add to your omelet. Stir your diced vegetables, avocado and any meat into the eggs and cook as normal.
On an Omelet: If you prefer the taste of uncooked avocado add it to the top of your omelet instead. Dice up the avocado and add the pieces on top of your omelet once it has been cooked.
In a Fruit Salad: Most first timers are a little hesitant when I recommend avocado in a fruit salad but they come around once they have tried it. Just like every other great dish the contrasting sweetness and watery bland flavor that comes with this combination is excellent. Dice apples, strawberries, peaches, avocado and add grapes to a fruit bowl. Add sliced almonds or crunchy walnuts and drizzle honey over the whole thing. Heaven!
Sliced in a sandwich: Slice avocado in long strips and add it to a sandwich in the same way you would tomato slices. I love avocado slices in a turkey on rye with alfalfa sprouts sandwich.
Spread on a sandwich: Use avocado spread in place of mayonnaise in your favorite sandwich. Mash up half an avocado and mix in some cream cheese till it is completely combined. Spread onto your sandwich roll and enjoy.
Like a Baked Potato: Cut your avocado down the middle in two equal pieces. Remove the pit from the center of the avocado. Get creative and add filling to your avocado based on your food preferences. My favorite way to fill an avocado in is to add corn niblets into the center and top with sour cream. This is another great and creative way to serve fruit salad, use the hollowed out avocado as your dish. Cheese, bacon bits, and carrot shavings are all great ways to fill up your avocado.
The possibilities are endless, of course you can enjoy an avocado just the way I love to the most- right off the peel.

M absolute favorite way to eat an avocado is in a sandwich. Avocado, sliced, tomato, red onion and lettuce and a dab of mayo on multi grain bread. I am so HUNGRY!
I also grew-up on avocados, and I love the many different ways you can eat, and what's best is that they are really healthy.
You can also add it to fried rice, soups, add it as a side when you eat meat.
One of my favorites way to eat it is by cutting it in half, and filling it with tuna, since I also like mayo, I add a tea spoon of light mayo, just to add a litle flavor.
You can also add it to chicken salad, make many different types of salsas, etc etc
The options are endless, just get creative!!!
I just adore avocados. Thanks for the suggestions.
