New Workout Exercises That Are Effective and Innovative

The Swiss Ball is an item at most gyms that you've probably never tried yet. You've seen other people at the gym do it but you always thought it was too strange and too big to use. Not to fear, the Swiss Ball is an excellent item to workout with and can strengthen all parts of your body.

The Swiss ball can be used to strengthen your triceps and chest by doing pushups on them. By grasping the Swiss ball with both hands and getting into a pushup position, you can put more stress on your triceps, shoulders and chest and get more out of your workout.

You can also use a small medicine ball and lean on it with your wrist in one hand and do a pushup. This will put more effort onto your shoulders to do extra work.

The squat is also an excellent exercise that many people neglect to do for your quad muscles. Squats can be done at home using your own body weight. You can also go to the gym and hold a barbell on top of your shoulders with weight attached and perform a squat routine. This will strengthen your quad muscles.

The reverse shoulder press is also an exercise I enjoy doing. Simply take a bench and then have your back against it. Put both hands on the bench and then slowly bring your body down. This will help you balance your weight and gain stamina as well.

A great cardiovascular exercise that most people do not do is jumping rope. Jumping rope is the best cardiovascular activity as recognized by doctors everywhere. Jumping rump gets your heart pumping blood to all chambers and gets your pulse up to different rates. Jumping rope offers an alternative to doing treadmill or jogging.

A new routine that is becoming increasingly popular is the back workout using a book bag. Simply take an empty book bag and fill it with weights and than start jogging or running with it. Running up and down stairs with a book bag filled with weights is also beneficial and will greatly strengthen your back. I have often see runners training for big races who are using this back method for strengthening it through weights on their back.

These routines all help you stimulate your muscles in ways and work our routines that you have never tried before. If you repeat the same exercises daily like the bicep curl or bench press, your muscles won't grow as much because they will be accustomed to that routine and hence the work out won't be as effective on your body.
