New World Natural Foods Organic Almond Cashew Granola - Product Review

Last week, I spent a day at a local trade show. At it, many companies were vying to find a way to the shelves of independent grocers from across Canada. I was there as an independent food critic and writer. I came home half buried in product samples, which my family regarded with both excitement and trepidation. You never know what you might end up with to test.

The nice folks from New World Natural Foods were there, with a range of products that they were launching, including some nut butters. I begged nicely, but they were only able to send me away with one bag in my hot little hands. Still, if this product is any indication of the quality you can expect from New World Natural Foods, I have nothing but good things to say.

The Almond Cashew Granola is a true pleasure to eat. My children and I tested it the other morning. It looked great in our bowl. The aroma was great. My kids practically dueled to see who could dig in first.

The Almond Cashew Granola has a sweet, flavour that doesn't overpower the nutty flavour of the almond and cashew. We were really impressed with the whole almonds, chunks of cashew, and sunflower seeds. The oat and barley flakes gave this product a nice crunchy and chewy texture. And the overall flavour was just great.

New World has done a great job with making this product easy to use. The package is re-seal-able, which will ensure freshness far beyond the first bowl. Which would be important for singles who want to have this as a treat or for families that only eat granola every once in a while.

Our family would definitely be happy to eat more of this. Maybe even for breakfast tomorrow.
