New Years is Coming!

What Changes Will You Make?

Well, here it goes.

Did you keep your New Years Resolution going strong, or did it fade away after a few weeks, months, or even days?

I know I did not keep mine, which was to try to stay a little more busy. Too often I get things finished up and have nothing left to do. I look for new hobbies, but there is simply not much to do for me in the Winter and I will typically spend the days laying around the house watching old TV shows and surfing the web.

Self control is the key here. We need to keep focused on the goals we set out. Most of them are very simple goals that really only require a few minutes out of the day to achieve, and if only we could get past a few weeks it would become a normal part of our daily lives. I see so many people doing so well in whatever changes they decided to make in the New Year, only to have them come to a cold stop if they get out of their new routine for as little as one day! The reasoning for this is simple enough; you really did want to make changes in your life, but were not at all happy about the commitment it would take to achieve them, so the very first instance that you get to waiver from them, you throw it all away.

In my case, I began writing a few web articles, working on a blog and website to pass the time, but this only lasted a few weeks. I hit it all hard and fast and really made some progress early on, but after a long day in which I had no time to work on my new hobby, I quite. It was much easier to sleep in the next day, surf the web and watch TV again!

I am wondering how many of you out there struggle with this issue? Feel free to post comments on your New Years Resolutions for this year and the past. Is the one this year the same as last years? Most people will keep the same resolution in their head until they die or complete it, whichever comes first!

I hope everyone has a good Holiday Season and wish them luck, and will power to achieve the goals they set out for yourselves in the New Year.
