New Year's Eve 2008-2009 Fireworks Displays in Boston

Families who have been enjoying First Night Boston 2009 all day can wind down their day with a special fireworks display. This early fireworks display is perfect for families with young children.
Start making your way to the Boston Common around 6:00p.m. to get there in time for the 7:00 p.m. fireworks. There will be ice sculptures and other outdoor displays that can be fun and distracting. The outdoor crowds can also be heavy at this time.
The special family fireworks will last for 12 minutes.
New Year's Eve 2008-2009 Fireworks Displays in Boston: Midnight
The biggest and most spectacular fireworks display on New Year's Eve in Boston is the Midnight Grand Finale over the Boston Harbor.
If you're feeling lucky, sea-worthy and have good timing, you can get yourself a harbor view of the Boston fireworks with a harbor cruise. The harbor cruise sets off from Rowe's wharf at exactly 11:30 p.m. The trick is to be there early There is no admission fee, beyond your trusty First Night Boston 2009 button. Available space is on a first come, first serve basis.
If you make it onto the boat, you will spend the next hour on the harbor, with an unbelievable view of the Boston New Year's Eve fireworks.
Countdown to Midnight with Black Taxi
The young crowd will want to head to the Parkman Bandstand on the Boston Common to countdown to midnight and wait for the Boston New Year's Eve fireworks show. The band Black Taxi is a dark mix of noir, angst and rhythm. The band hits the stage at 10:00 p.m and plays until midnight, when you can enjoy the Boston New Year's Eve fireworks.
Join the countdown to midnight at either of the two bandstands.
Dance, Dance Revolution, Boston Style
Dance your way to midnight as DJ Kon, DJ Die Young spin the tunes that get you from 2008 to 2009. The dancing and fun starts at 10:00 p.m and lasts until midnight, when the New Year's Eve firework show welcomes in 2009.
The dancing takes place at Copley Square, where WBTZ-TV personalities will be on hand for live coverage of the fireworks and the New Year's Eve revelry.
