First Night in Raleigh, North Carolina 2008.

This event is similar to New Yorks lowering of the apple at midnight. Except in Raleigh, North Carolina is an Acorn.

Cost: Adults $12, Children(ages 6-12) $10, and children under 5 are admitted for free. You could volunteer and get free admissions.

Places selling admissions buttons: can be purchased on the web until December 30th @ www.firstnightraleigh.com, Harris Teeter, Rite Aid stores as well as Ben & Jerry's, Borders Books & Music, Marbles Kids Museum, North Carolina Museum of Art, and North Carolina Museum of History.

Food: There will be vendors located along the Bicentennial Plaza and along Fayetteville Street.

Parking: There are many parking decks around the area.

Activities for Children: There will be many activities for children from 2-6pm, Cashore Marionettes (puppet show), Psychedelic the Dyes (making arts and crafts with tie-dye)(these events are located at the North Carolina Museum of History)

Adventures in Imagination with magical Shaun, Animal of the Hour, Barefoot Movement (Acoustic Music) (these are located in the North Carolina Museum of Natural Science)

Jason the Juggler, Hoop Bliss with Julia Hartshell, and Sea of Bubbles (these will be located on the Bicentennial Plaza)

Activities for Adults: Poetry Saloon, Chuck Davis and the African American Dance Ensemble, Ballroom Dancing, and for all those resolution doers there will be a resolution tree located on Fayetteville Street.

There will be fireworks @ Midnight on South Street
