If you want a truly magical season and New Years Eve with your family no one will ever forget there isn't anywhere more wonderful and beautiful than Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. You will feel like you have stepped into a wonderland fantasy straight from a post card you and your family will remember for the rest of your life. There is lots of snow, bright lights and more fun and excitement than any other place around.

Coeur d'Alene, Idaho is located in the northern part of the state and provides unlimited outdoor activity, but when the Christmas and New Year season arrive it becomes every child's dream. There are family activities you can enjoy together as you ring in the new year to come. Bring your wife, children, parents, friends or even a brand new love because you will begin the greatest journey of cherished memories here.

1. The downtown Coeur d'Alene Resort has one of the largest and most beautiful floating holiday light displays in the country. There are over one million tiny lights creating a salute to family togetherness and holiday fun. You will see the night sky turn into a wonderland before you even arrive at your destination. With lots of easy parking around the resort and next to the lake you won't have to worry about finding a space. Remember here in the north it gets dark by 4:00pm so you can start your tour early with small children. Dress warm because it gets cold here in the north especially when you enter the boardwalk over the lake. You will see Santa with his reindeer as they fly through the night and fantasy castles to fill any little girls dreams. There are lighted stars and snowflakes and skiers moving with grace as lighted boats move around the lake. This is free to the public and a sight never to be missed.

2. Fantasy Cruise to the North Pole! How about a 40 minute cruise to the far shore of lake Coeur d'Alene to meet Mr. and Mrs. Clause! You ride through the night on a beautiful cruise ship to a part of the lake lighted with various theme's of the holiday season. It is a toy land of magic and dreams for children and adults alike. But hurry because reservations are required for this once in a life time event for every child.

Adults $14.75 each, Seniors $13.75 each and children 10 and younger are free!

3. Next on to the South Pole Skating Village. This is ice skating at it's best for a small rink. It is an outdoor rink set on the lawn of the Coeur d'Alene Resort below the clock tower. You will feel like you just stepped into a movie with this one. Skater vary from the our sweet youngest trying for the very first time to skate to older skaters reliving their long ago youth. Everyone has a good time gliding around the rink as snowflakes fill the sky.

Skate times: Monday through Thursday- 3:00pm, 4:30pm, 6:00pm and 7:30pm.

Friday and Saturday - 12:00pm, 1:30pm, 3:00pm, 4:30pm, 6:00pm and 7:30pm.

Adults $8.00 each, Children 12 and younger $4.00 each. Skate rentals $3.00 per person.

4. Triple Play! This is a family event with fun for everyone. There is miniature golf, arcade and video games, bowling fun, laser tag, a restaurant and more. There is even a soft play area for the little ones to jump to their hearts content while mom and dad take a bit of a break. There is a large lot for easy parking and all the play occurs indoors so no one has to be cold to enjoy ringing in the new year with your family surrounding you in love, warmth and happiness.

Location: Hwy 95 and Orchard in the town of Hayden about 10 miles north of Coeur d'Alene. It's an easy drive and large enough your kids will see it before you do.

Cost: Attractions range from $6.50 and up or you can purchase a package deal once your arrive.

Video and arcade games range from .50 and up.
