New Year's Eve: Memphis Style

Look at all of the fun New Year's Eve in Memphis, TN has to offer. There is a party at every corner, so there are no excuses to not be out at midnight to join in ushering in 2008. Here is a list of some of the events that are planned for New Year's Eve.

The main area of fun is Downtown Memphis. Enjoy Countdown on Beale Street. This event is supported by most of the clubs downtown. There will be fireworks at midnight. Hard Rock Café starts the party at 10pm. Starting at 7pm there will be a $15 cover charge. They have great food and amazing atmosphere along with a champagne toast at midnight. They are having a shot from the past with the 80's band Aquanet providing the entertainment.

Come to Pat O'Brien's for a feel of New Orleans where the entertainment is in the piano bar and on the patio. There will be music by Transitt, Freddy Kirksey, Bill Whitman, and Hudson & Saleeby. This is a great place to enjoy the festivities outside and don't forget to grab a famous hurricane from the bar. Call ahead for reservations.

The Peabody Hotel is starting the music at 8pm and is featuring Cowboy Mouth, Mark Anderson's Party Train, and many more. There will be a balloon drop to ring in the New year.

In Peabody Place, Encore's is offering a four course prix fixe menu for $65 and offers entertainment by Jim Wenger & the Jim Spake Duo.

Huey's downtown has the Eric Hughes Band playing starting at 9pm. They also have good food and a fun atmosphere.

If you are wanting an upscale environment than call the Madison Hotel to make a reservation for dinner. It is $80 per person and offers a five course menu that is full of exquisite dishes.

If you are wanting to stay out of the downtown area but still want to enjoy the festivities for New Year's Eve check out these events.

Check out New Year's at Senses nightclub, the doors open at 9pm and is $10 to get in. They offer party favors, champagne toast at midnight, and plenty of music from DJ Cody and DJ Jean. You can call ahead to reserve booths because they are in high demand.

Clark Tower is having their New Year's Bash where there will be fireworks at midnight. This place is great because of the views of the city that you can see. The Tower Room restaurant will have music from the Bouffants. Call for reservations for the restaurant.
